On this occasion, Ben Hebbert will speak about how the the viols of the Metropolitan fit into the evolution of the instrument from the 1560s to the 18th century. He will show slides of viols belonging to the Met as well as to other collections, and he will bring a very interesting instrument of his own that he plays.
